SMOK TFV4 Sub Ohm Tank Review
The SMOKTECH TFV4 Sub Ohm Tank Review
The brand new SMOK TFV4 (Taste Furious V4) is a colossus sub ohm tank made especially for cloud chasing enthusiasts. The TFV4 includes three new-patent gigantic coils; the 0.2 ohm triple coil (TF-T3) firing at 40W - 130W, the 0.15 ohm quadruple coil (TF-Q4) firing at 40W - 140W and an impressive 0.85 ohm rebuildable coil (TF-R1).
The SMOK TFV4 contains large coils that we’ve have not seen before. For example, the triple coil, has three coils built inside one large coil unit. The TFV4 triple coil provides excellent cloud production, however; we found the flavor lacking. It’s not a complete disappointment, but I just wanted more flavor from the triple coil. On the other hand, the quadruple coil provided better flavorful high density clouds. Again, the SMOK TFV4 quadruple coil can be fired up to 140 watts. When using this coil, 140 watts is a bit much for me and found the best settings from 100W to 120W. I am looking forward to the new and upcoming coils from SMOK like the Ni200 coils for temperature control mode. It should be really interesting to see what else SMOK will come up with. Lastly, the RBA coil is has plenty of room for various builds. The TFV4 RBA coil contains massive juice wells, ensuring the cotton stays saturated, while delivering clean and purer hits. I tried the RBA coil at 45 watts at 0.70 ohms and let me tell you, I received a tremendous amount of flavor and vapor. SMOK’s has produced an innovative one-of-kind sub tank that will change the way you vape.
The TFV4 sub ohm continues to impress me because of the drip tip and convenient top fill method. To sum it up, the SMOK TFV4 is a 3-in-1 sub ohm tank. SMOK has taken bits and pieces from current tanks and blended the ideas to form their own monster tank. What do I mean by this, you ask? For instance, the drip tip is very similar to the Aspire Atlantis V2. The TFV4 is a double-layered structure drip tip. The inner tube is spaced about 2mm from the outer tube, providing a heat shield from the outer tube from overheating. You will still get a warm vapor but due to this structure, the drip tip stays nice and cool, even when fired at a high wattage. The drip tip also features a rotating air valve with four air adjustments, paired with four adjustments at the base of the tank. Try opening all the air valves to achieve the maximum airflow for bigger and better cloud production. Now, let’s get into the top refill method. The convenient top fill method is just like the Aspire Triton tank. The leak proof ejuice slot will significantly solve any leakage problems. The liquid capacity of SMOK TFV4 is 5ml’s. You would simply, unscrew the top cap and fill the ejuice at the side hole (do not drip in the middle). Secure the top and enjoy your vape session.
The SMOK TFV4 sub ohm tank provides a tremendous amount of airflow production. The TFV4 features four different airflow slots as well extra air valves on the drip tip itself. I personally love tons of airflow and if you’re like me, try opening all the valves to achieve maximum air production. Try taking an inhale and exhale into the tank and watch the amount of vapor released. It’s excellent!!!
With all the pros of the SMOK TFV4, you may ask what are the cons? After using the tank for about a week, here is what I found:
I have paired the TFV4 with both the Sigelei 150W TC and the X Cube II. I feel the TFV4 is a bit heavier than other sub ohm tanks, however; it’s not a big deal. The tank weight about 92 grams and it’s something you need to consider when purchasing the TFV4.
I prefer the Triple and Quadruple coil units. The TFV4 provides one of the best cloud productions, that I have ever experienced with a sub ohm tank, however; I go through a tank quite quickly. The tank holds a maximum of 5ml’s of ejuice, but be prepared to refill your tank more often due to the bigger coils and higher wattage.
So let’s wrap this up. The SMOK TFV4 is currently my new favorite sub ohm tank. It combines features of other tanks into one monster sub ohm tank. It pairs well with any box mod, but was designed especially to pair with the SMOK X Cube II. There are a couple cons, however; I am looking past them because of the many awesome features. I highly recommend the SMOK TFV4 sub ohm tank for cloud chasing enthusiasts.
